unit prior to the winter season and provides a diagnostic report.
We inspect:
Interior, exterior and mechanical condition;
Water level
and drainage;
Cap, nozzle and body condition and lubrication
Water tightness
condition
Non-draining fire hydrants are pumped as
necessary to prevent freezing. In the Ontario Fire Code, Article 6.6.5.5 states that non-draining hydrants require approved measures to ensure that the hydrant doesn't freeze. This is a conditional fire code requirement if your hydrant has poor drainage.
