Flow Pressure Tests Print E-mail
InfraResto offers different services in the field of flow pressure tests.  Here you will find some information on the important distinctions between the different types of tests and what they can do for you.
  1. Flow Pressure Tests for Colour Coding
  2. Colour coding is required by the fire code (O Reg 388/97 and it is not specifically the hydraulic readings taken on the hydrant during a complete inspection.  The difference is that another fire hydrant is flowed to read a specific drop in pressure, then the rated flow is calculated using a special formula from the readings.  Our flow pressure test reporting system database does this automatically.

The calculated flow corresponds to a specific colour code as per NFPA 291.  Please contact us if you would like more information on the colour coding or would like flow pressure tests performed on your system.

  3. Flow Pressure Tests for System Design/Analysis

Special flow pressure tests to determine the maximum capacity of a system at a specific hydrant can be done by our experienced technicians.  This type of test requires planning and also systems layout drawings to properly test the capacity of the system. This test is very useful in testing a brand new hydrant or identifying possible weak areas in the water distribution system that could be caused by constricted pipes or partially closed valves.

Please contact us for your flow pressure test to discuss what's involved and we'll be happy to assist you.
